CSKA 1948 head coach Ivan Stoyanov was disappointed with the three points lost after the goalless draw against Dobrudzha in the last championship match of the "reds" for 2025, Topsport reported.
"Today we lost two points. In the first half we gave up in aggression, we didn't stand the way we wanted, we moved less than the opponent. If Diallo had scored, the match could have gone in a different direction," Stoyanov began.
The coach rejected the theses of underestimation or serious physical fatigue:
"I can't say that there is fatigue. Underestimation - none. We came out to play the game and if we could - to win it. We tried with all our might, but today it just wasn't working. The pitch wasn't easy either. At the end of the year, every team and every player feels tired."
Stoyanov admitted that his team still suffers from a lack of efficiency in the final third:
"We are struggling in every way to score a goal. We had to take a risk and let a second striker play. I hope that in the future we will have more chances and realize our chances."
Despite the draw, the coach highly appreciated the team's development:
"We had a pretty good half-season. Maybe few expected us to perform like this. We are striving for the highest. We have a serious team and players - we just have to work and demand the maximum."
Finally, he turned his attention to the upcoming match for the Bulgarian Cup:
"We need to recover well. We are facing a tough opponent - Slavia, who have been performing strongly in recent matches."
Dobrudzha head coach Atanas Atanasov expressed disappointment after the goalless draw against CSKA 1948 in a match from the 19th round of the First League, emphasizing that his team was closer to victory in Bistritsa.
"I am rather disappointed because we could have left with three points against the background of what we showed as a game. We had real chances to win. This is our first positive result as a guest. We made mistakes that they were unable to capitalize on. The team is playing well, we created enough situations, but we didn't realize them. This is the way - to try to play football and we do it. Sometimes it works, sometimes - not", Atanasov began.
The coach noted that the team's strong performances are not one-offs:
"We also played other very strong matches in which we failed to win. Against Spartak Varna we were the best. As a selection, CSKA 1948 is the most equipped team in the group, and we almost depersonalized the way they try to play."
The coach emphasized that Dobrudzha has 12 points and a key period is ahead:
"Final matches against teams from our ranks are ahead. There will be players who will be released, and those who we will attract. We want to build on this, especially in the final phase."
Atanasov also commented on the upcoming Bulgarian Cup match against Botev Vratsa:
"We will decide who will remain after the last match with Botev Vratsa. We have ambitions to move forward. The Cup cannot be a priority in any way, but this is still the last match of the year in Dobrich and we will try to win it."
