Maritsa defeated Levski and won the Bulgarian Women's Volleyball Cup - 1

Maritsa won the Bulgarian Women's Volleyball Cup for the ninth consecutive time and the 11th time in total, after winning 3:0 (25:20, 25:12, 25:21) against Levski at the "Hristo Botev" hall in the capital. Plovdiv's women have not lost the trophy since 2016, when the "blues" finished in first place, BTA reported.

Maritsa entered the match as a champion and won the first five games, and this difference was maintained throughout most of the game. Plovdiv's team received their first game ball on their own serve at 24:20, made two blocks and in turn organized an attack that Viktoria Koeva finished.

Marič's team made an even stronger second game, in which they made two long series with seven and eight unanswered points. Plovdiv's team reached a game ball on Iva Dudova's serve, managed to get the ball back and Koeva again realized the last point of the set.

The third set was more equal and reached 20:20, but Levski made a series of errors on the serve and Marič's team received five match points. "The Blues" defended the first, but then Iva Dudova's shot went into a blockout and thus the volleyball players from Plovdiv lifted the trophy.

"I want to congratulate the entire team. We tried to show our best and be concentrated. It turned out the way we wanted. I want to continue in the same way and I hope we win the championship," said the coach of the Plovdiv team, Ahmetjan Ershimshek, after the match.

Levski coach Radoslav Arsov said: "A somewhat expected loss after yesterday's semi-final, in which we threw everything. We are still green to play such finals, we were not able to get them out of the net and Maritsa won a deserved victory. We lack their self-confidence, but that is normal".
