Arsenal restored their lead at the top of the English football championship after winning the London derby with 4:1 with Tottenham. "The Gunners" recorded their 18th victory since the start of the season and have 61 points, while Manchester City are five less in second position after a 2:1 victory against Newcastle.
Eberechi Eze was the basis of Arsenal's success with two goals. The first came in the 32nd minute, when Bukayo Saka broke down the right wing and passed into the penalty area, where Eze picked up the ball and volleyed it into the home team's net for 1:0. Tottenham, however, responded quickly when Randall Kolo Muani stole the ball from Declan Rice just two minutes later to make it 1-1.
The draw did not last long. Victor Gokeres put the Gunners ahead with a powerful shot from the edge of the penalty area in the 47th minute, and Eze scored again after an hour of play into an empty net. Gokeres finished off the Spurs in the fourth minute of added time and Arsenal earned a crucial three points in the title race.
Interim manager Igor Tudor lost his first game in charge of Tottenham, who are 16th in the Premier League with 29 points and four above the relegation zone.
