The two McLarens fastest in the third practice session at Imola. Lando Norris and Oscar Piastre blew away the competition before Sunday's Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix, the seventh round of the Formula 1 season, BTA reports.

Both Norris and Piastre (pictured) turned 19 laps on the "Imola" track, with the difference between the two's fastest laps being just one tenth. Briton Norris achieved a time of 1:14.897 seconds, and Australian Piastre - 1:14.997 seconds. The two were also the only ones under the 1:15 minute threshold, although world champion Max Verstappen with Red Bull was very close to them. The Dutchman was only 0.181 seconds slower than the time Norris to finish third.

The gap to fourth-placed Kimi Antonelli in the Mercedes was now more than half a second. The Italian Formula 1 debutant recorded another great performance, and the time he set was 0.502 seconds behind the best of the session. After Antonelli, Charles Leclerc in the Ferrari was 0.554 seconds behind and Carlos Sainz Jr. in the Williams was 0.560 seconds behind, completing the top six.
