CSKA has not yet made a final decision on whether to comply with the new BFU rule, writes "Tema sport".
The football union decided that in the upcoming season all elite clubs must start their official matches with a minimum of four Bulgarians. Those who do not want to comply must declare it before the start of the championship, and this will cost them about 400,000 leva.
“There will be an official position from the club before the championship starts”, Kerkez answered when asked if CSKA will comply with the BFU decision.
CSKA head coach Dušan Kerkez spoke before the squad left for a summer camp in Slovenia. The specialist is pleased with the attraction of Teodor Ivanov, stating that he hopes for more new ones to join the “army men“ on Slovenian soil.
“All the players are here. The first week was tests and adaptation. Everything is fine. We have also started with the transfers. Let's wish Teodor "welcome to CSKA!" This is a good transfer, a potential national team. He has great potential and can help us. We are working on the selection constantly, I can't say anything. I hope that new players will come to Slovenia.
Many of the quality players are not seen as Bulgaria's first option. Especially for a team that does not play in Europe. Step by step we will build a team that everyone expects“, Dušan Kerkez began, BTA reported.
“I always look at day by day, week by week. First, let's create a team spirit with the existing players, and let the new ones quickly join the team. Then we will look at where we are match by match and week by week. I want us to be at the top. There can't be a general change in a month or a year. When we want to do something big, we have to be realistic.
I see a lot of ambitious people. We are working for CSKA to move forward and regain its old glory. For me, the most important thing is the team spirit. When we are on the field, the fans should say this is CSKA. The team should never be ashamed. To look the fans in the eye. I am not a magician, I believe in everyone that we will make a great team“, the specialist also said.
Dušan Kerkez also commented on the situation with Aaron Iseka's injury, as well as Lumbard Delova's future with the “reds“: “We have had an injury to Iseka in the last few days. I think he will come to Slovenia. He can't work with the ball, but I want him to be with the team. There are no other injuries. There is a small problem with James Eto'o. I'm not sure he will be available for the first match.
I spoke to Delova. Everything is fine and he wants to stay at CSKA. He is ambitious and wants to stay here to do something big. CSKA is a big club. We need to get closer to the level of the fans“.
