Levski coach Julio Velasquez spoke before CSKA 1948's home game tomorrow at 7:15 p.m. at the "Georgi Asparuhov" stadium. The "Blues" coach said that he didn't come for a walk in Sofia, but to win matches, reports gong.bg.
"We have a normal approach. When we think about our performance in Europe, I think we performed very well. We were extremely close to reaching the group stage without this having been done for nearly 15 years. We faced Beer Sheva, AZ, Braga - a tight and difficult calendar. I think the players performed well. I am proud of the players and our fans, who followed us everywhere. I think these eight matches can be part of a process of upgrading. Now we are focused on what lies ahead of us, such as the championship, the Cup and the Super Cup. The goal is to have a good season and I think we are on the right track. Yesterday I shared the same with the players before training. Now we are focused on tomorrow's match", Velasquez began.
"We are in the process of recovery. Now is the moment when the players feel the hardest. Carlos Ohene will not take part 100%. The rest of the players - some are tired, but not seriously injured", said the Spanish coach.
"CSKA 1948 performed quite well during the transfer period. They managed to strengthen themselves. This is a team that has been performing very steadily since the beginning of the season. They have a clear idea of the game, how to quickly get to the opponent's goal, they play practically. They have good and fast players on the wings and a dynamic striker who gives many options. We are clearly aware that they are a team that comes motivated for the match and with the idea of making it as difficult as possible for us. I have full confidence and believe in my players. I know that we will have a good match from the first minute", added the coach.
"Until things are official, we cannot talk. Today Akram Bouras - midfielder will come to us. Never say never on the transfer market. The club is trying to provide the best to fill the squad. I did not come here for a walk in Sofia, but to win matches. From now on, the better players we have, the better. I have said before that I am happy with what I have. I am in wonderful and constant relations with the club's management. The club, within its capabilities, always works on finding the best options. The process is always open in both directions", Velasquez also shared.
"My only goal is the match with CSKA, I want us to play it well and most importantly - to try to win it. I don't waste time making long-term plans. I stay in the present. I believe in the sequence of processes. What will happen is a consequence of many factors", concluded the coach of the "blues".
