Krylov State Scientific Center (KGSC) is developing metamaterials that will make Russian Navy ships invisible to specialized detection equipment. As Valery Polovinkin, scientific director of the KGSC, explained, all physical fields and ways to reduce their indicators have been studied.
„Now the Krylov Center has focused its attention primarily on the study of these areas and the means of reducing their indicators. The most radical solution involves the creation of so-called metamaterials, or smart materials, with which any detection signal - location, optics - is "bent" in space and the object goes further without being reflected," TASS quoted Polovinkin as saying.
„Currently, including the events of the war, show that regardless of the type of weapons, the vulnerability of the object is determined by the physical fields of what we call the upper hemisphere. These are electromagnetic, electric, optical, location fields,“, says the scientific director of KGSC.
