A rare GAZ-14 "Chaika" with a Toyota engine and almost no mileage is for sale in Russia. The car was manufactured in 1985, it is preserved in almost perfect condition, and the most interesting part of it is the engine. The car is equipped with a powerful V-shaped eight-cylinder Toyota engine.
The engine surpasses the original unit in all possible indicators. The car is officially registered with the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate, all components are in working order, and the seller is asking for 3.5 million rubles for it, which is approximately 39,000 euros.
The eight-cylinder 1UZ-FE engine from the Japanese brand Toyota is known for its high reliability. The Japanese engine is accompanied by an automatic transmission, also from Japan. The new power unit has a smaller volume than the original, but develops about 280 horsepower - a quarter more than the standard one.
The seller claims that the car is in a condition as close to the factory as possible. All systems are in good working order, and the changes made are officially documented and registered. The GAZ-14 was the last model of the representative class of Soviet cars, produced at the Gorky Automobile Plant from the late 1970s to the late 1980s. In eleven years, only 1,110 cars were produced, intended exclusively for the top leadership and party elite.
