There is no reason to smile. This is not just a political event - the vote and what is happening with "Lukoil" is the funeral of Bulgarian democracy. With this decision, made in 26 seconds, the ruling party spat in the face of the democratic person in Bulgaria. People in parliament enter, sit down, vote, get up and leave - without caring what is happening. These are not members of parliament, these are people in suits who only raise their hands when they are told. This was stated in front of Lili Marinkova in the studio "FACT" and the program "Conversation" by economist Kuzman Iliev, leader of the party “Bulgaria can“.
“We heard the opposition protest that the decision is wrong, that it is against the public interest – and they are right. But where is the big problem? Everyone is talking about Delyan Peevski – whether he is behind this, whether he wants to seize key resources, whether he controls economic processes. We can speculate, we can develop the topic, but the truth is deeper. Now that Ivo Mirchev comes out and warns that some of the fuel reserves are not what we think, that the “Lukoil“ warehouses may be closed – let's ask ourselves the question: How did we get here? Who created this model? The answer is that these are our American partners and allies in NATO, with their geopolitical games. The US decided to strangle Russia, to take its assets – without thinking that in this way they are leaving their “partners“ in the Balkans without fuel. Ivo Mirchev, as a spokesman for the liberal Euro-Atlantic space, must do some self-criticism. Our "partners", who taught us values and developed our plans for energy independence, are keeping Bulgaria in crisis today, the guest added.
“Who is to blame for Peevski being so empowered, whitened and legitimized that he can control everything? Those who legitimized him are to blame - the "assembly" between the PP-DB. The PP-DB came supposedly "to shake things up", but in the end they revived the status quo. They sat down with Peevski at the same table, legitimized him politically, sent him messages: “I'm here, come down and see us, we'll solve the problems.“ And all this - in the name of “Euro-Atlantic love“ and false unity. And today they are “very concerned“ that Bulgarians will be left without gasoline“, Iliev also said.
