The violation of Romanian airspace by Russian drones is yet another unacceptable violation of the sovereignty of a European Union member state. This was stated by the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaia Kalas in a publication in Ex, BTA reported.
"This ongoing reckless escalation threatens regional security", she wrote. "We stand in solidarity with Romania. I maintain close contacts with the Romanian government".
Today, the Romanian Ministry of National Defense announced that a Russian drone was intercepted in Romanian airspace yesterday evening. According to the ministry, after more than 50 percent of Russia's attacks on Ukraine near the Romanian borders, fragments of Russian drones fell on Romanian territory.
