The British Foreign Office has summoned the Russian ambassador to London for talks after Russia entered NATO airspace last week, the country's Foreign Office said today, quoted by Reuters, BTA reported.
Poland shot down Russian drones on Wednesday. This was the first such action by a member state of the Western defense alliance since the beginning of Russia's invasion of Ukraine. A few days later, Romania scrambled fighter jets after a Russian drone entered its airspace.
The incursion into NATO airspace was "completely unacceptable", a British Foreign Office spokesman said in a statement, adding that Britain stood with its NATO allies in condemning the "reckless actions".
"Russia must understand that its continued aggression only strengthens the unity of NATO allies and our determination to support Ukraine, and any further violation will be met with force," the spokesman added.
The Russian embassy in London did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Reuters.
