Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said that Moscow and Minsk are taking a responsible approach to issues related to the potential use of nuclear weapons, Reuters reported, citing the Interfax agency, BTA reports.
Russia and Belarus are ending their joint military exercises "Zapad 2025". Both countries say their goal is to test their combat readiness and defense capabilities, although the exercises have raised concerns among neighboring countries amid the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said the exercises include rehearsals for the launch of Russian tactical nuclear weapons, as well as planning for the potential use of the Russian hypersonic missile "Oreshnik".
