Volodymyr Zelensky signed the law on the “Defense City“, which introduces incentives for Ukrainian defense industry enterprises. According to information published on the website of the Verkhovna Rada, the law was returned with Zelensky's signature.
Now the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense“ will include resident enterprises in a special register of the “Defense City“, which will receive certain tax incentives. In particular, they are exempted from income tax, land tax, real estate tax and environmental tax. These enterprises will also benefit from simplified customs procedures for military goods and a number of other incentives.
Incentives for Ukrainian defense industry enterprises in the “Defense City“ will be in effect until 2036 or until Ukraine joins the European Union. In addition to the benefits, the law restricts public access to all data on companies resident in the Defense City in electronic registers.
Requirements for residents of the Defense City, the procedures and grounds for granting, terminating and losing this status, as well as monitoring procedures, will be regulated by the Law “On National Security of Ukraine”.
