Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov met with his Serbian counterpart Marko Djuric to discuss the situation in Kosovo and reaffirm their full support for Serbia's territorial integrity and sovereignty.
This was stated in a statement by the Russian Foreign Ministry after the meeting on the sidelines of the high-level week of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly.
„Coordination of work in international organizations and regional issues was discussed in detail, with an emphasis on the situation in the Serbian Autonomous Province of Kosovo and Metohija and the Republika Srpska (Bosnia and Herzegovina)“, the ministry reported.
„The Russian side reaffirmed its full support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia. The need for strict compliance with the fundamental UN Security Council Resolution 1244 and the General (Dayton) Framework Agreement for Peace in order to achieve a long-term and sustainable settlement in the Balkans was emphasized.“
The Russian Foreign Ministry noted that the strategic partnership between the countries is developing steadily, and the intensity and substantive nature of contacts remain strong despite the current crisis in the system of international relations. The ministry also stressed that the parties discussed key issues of cooperation at the meeting.
During a meeting with Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov reaffirmed Russia's principled position on the need to immediately end the US trade, economic and financial embargo against Cuba.

“They stressed their mutual commitment to maintaining a dynamic political dialogue between Moscow and Havana and deepening cooperation in trade and economic issues.“
