The death toll in Vietnam from Typhoon "Bualoi" and the floods it caused has risen to 51, reports „Reuters“. Another 14 people are missing, and 164 are injured, reports News.bg.

The typhoon hit the north of Central Vietnam on Monday, bringing huge waves, strong winds and torrential rain. According to the government's disaster management agency, material damage is already estimated at 15.9 trillion dong ($ 603 million) - significantly more than initial estimates.

The element caused serious damage to roads, schools and administrative buildings, as well as power outages that left tens of thousands of families without electricity. More than 230,000 houses were damaged or flooded, and nearly 89,000 hectares of rice and other crops were destroyed.

Despite the extensive damage to infrastructure and housing, no significant damage to industrial sites was reported. However, the affected area is home to major factories of companies such as Foxconn, Formosa Plastics, Luxshare and Vinfast.

The Central Bank of Vietnam has called on commercial banks to provide support to businesses affected by the disaster, including through restructuring or freezing loans.
