NATO's annual nuclear deterrence exercise "Steadfast Noon" (Steadfast Noon - translated into Bulgarian as "Steady Noon") will begin on Monday, October 13, the alliance's Secretary General Mark Rutte announced today, quoted by Reuters, writes BTA.
He said the exercise helps ensure that NATO's nuclear deterrence capabilities are reliable, secure, safe and effective.
The exercises send a clear signal to any potential adversary that the alliance can protect and defend all its members against any threat, Rutte stressed.
No lethal weapons will be used during the exercise, NATO noted.
