Greece and Cyprus to participate in tomorrow's Gaza summit - 1

Greece and Cyprus are among the countries that have been invited to participate in the Gaza summit, which will be held tomorrow in the Egyptian resort of Sharm el-Sheikh.

The news was confirmed by Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, who wrote today in his weekly overview post on social networks, quoted by ANA-MPA: “Tomorrow I will be in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, for the signing of the agreement (on Gaza). Greece is one of the European countries that will be there, together with Cyprus, BTA writes. Our presence is another response to those who want to see Greece isolated and unhappy“.

As reported by the Greek state television ERT, Mitsotakis will be accompanied by Greek Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis in Egypt. Because of this, Gerapetritis has postponed his planned meeting with his German counterpart Johann Wadeful tomorrow.

According to the American news site "Axios" The US State Department has expanded the list of countries initially invited, adding in addition to Greece and Cyprus Spain, Japan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Hungary, India, El Salvador, Bahrain, Kuwait and Canada.

The site also cites an unnamed source, according to whom an invitation has also been extended to Iran.

The meeting in Sharm el-Sheikh will also be attended by the US, Germany, France, the UK, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Jordan, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Indonesia.

European Council President Antonio Costa will also participate in the peace summit in Egypt.
