A meeting of the European Council will be held in Brussels on October 23. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has been invited to participate in it. This was announced by European Council President Antonio Costa on the social network X.
The President of the European Council made the statement on October 22 after another massive attack by Russia against the territory of Ukraine.
"I will be happy to welcome President Zelensky at tomorrow's European Council meeting. We will discuss how to continue to support Ukraine, which is facing Russia's aggressive war“, Costa said.
According to him, the position of the European Union remains unchanged: support for Ukraine and pressure on Russia will continue.
"Our commitments are unwavering. Our course is clear. We will continue to increase pressure on Russia, while strengthening Ukraine in its quest for peace," the European Council President added.
Last night, Russia launched strikes on Kiev with ballistic missiles and drones. The attack caused fires in several areas of the Ukrainian capital, in particular in high-rise residential buildings, and two people died.
In the village of Pogreby near Kiev, a woman born in 1987, her six-month-old daughter and her 12-year-old niece were killed as a result of a Russian strike. A drone crashed into their house and a fire broke out.
