The new US sanctions against Russian energy companies "Rosneft" and "Lukoil" are a counterproductive signal, including with regard to resolving the conflict in Ukraine, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said today, quoted by Reuters and TASS, BTA reports.
Russia's goals in Ukraine remain unchanged, and the root causes of the conflict must be resolved, Zakharova emphasized.
Our country has developed a stable immunity to such sanctions, she added.
The spokeswoman for the Russian diplomatic department also mentioned the new European Union sanctions against Moscow. She noted that she would comment on them once details about them are published.
