North Korea tests strategic "sea-to-ground" cruise missile over the waters of the Yellow Sea, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported on Tuesday.
The country's supreme leader Kim Jong-un attended the launch of the missile, the KCNA said.
The missile, which was modified to be launched from a ship, successfully hit its target after flying over the waters of the Yellow Sea for 7,800 seconds.
"The head of state has already defined deterrence guaranteed by powerful offensive capabilities as the most complete form of defensive capability.
We must constantly renew our combat capabilities and, in particular, constantly improve our nuclear combat readiness, which is our responsible mission and fundamental duty," stressed Pak Jong-chun, vice chairman of the Central Military Commission.
