American President Donald Trump is confident that the war between Ukraine and Russia will be resolved. However, he admitted that he underestimated how difficult the path to peace will be, UNIAN reports, quoted by Focus.
Trump said that the Russian-Ukrainian war is the only conflict that has not yet been resolved, although he thought it would be "the easiest task" because of his close relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
He made his statement during his speech at a luncheon with the leaders of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation countries.
"We have ended eight conflicts. The only one that hasn't been resolved yet is Russia and Ukraine," Trump said.
The American leader assured that the situation would be resolved: "I thought it would be the easiest thing - because of my warm relationship with President Putin. It turned out that not everything is so easy. But it will still be done."
