The Russian Defense Ministry said on Monday that Russian forces had advanced on the town of Pokrovsk in Donetsk region and had launched massive strikes overnight against Ukrainian military-industrial facilities, Reuters reported.
Russian forces are destroying what Moscow described as encircled Ukrainian formations near the railway station and industrial zone of Pokrovsk, the Russian ministry said, specifying that Russian forces had entered the Prigorodny district of the city, where they had dug in.
The Defense Ministry in Moscow said the strikes overnight were aimed at a Ukrainian military airport, a base for repairing military equipment and equipment and facilities of the military-industrial complex, as well as against gas infrastructure facilities that maintain.
Moscow said Russian forces had pushed Kiev's troops out of their positions around another town, Kupyansk, according to Russian state news agencies, citing the Defense Ministry. Reuters could not independently confirm the reports from the battlefield.
