Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that the latest report on Ukraine by the European Commission shows that Kiev is "confidently approaching" its EU membership and is ready to open the first three negotiation chapters, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met with soldiers at the command post of the First Corps of the National Guard of Ukraine "Azov", which, together with neighboring units, is defending the direction to Dobropilya. He discussed the situation at the front with the soldiers and presented them with state awards, Ukrinform reported, citing a post on the Ukrainian head of state's Facebook page.

"I listened to the reports of the military, discussed the situation at the front and the most pressing needs, and paid close attention to issues related to weapons, the increase in drone production, the needs of the brigades, the experience of the First Corps of the National Guard of Ukraine "Azov" and others," Zelensky said.

He thanked the soldiers for their service and personally presented them with state awards.

"The defenders serve in an important area. I thank the soldiers for defending Ukraine and our territorial integrity. This is our country, this is our East, and we will definitely do everything possible to ensure that it remains Ukrainian," Zelensky stressed.
