North Korea's Defense Minister Noh Kwang-chol threatened to take "more offensive actions", condemning the security talks between the US and South Korea, Reuters reported.
He criticized the recent visit of the US and South Korean defense chiefs to the border with the North, as well as their subsequent security talks in Seoul. According to the defense minister, "this is a harsh revelation" and expresses their hostile nature to oppose the DPRK.
Noh Kwang-chol also added that the visit of the US nuclear aircraft carrier "George Washington" in the southeastern Korean port city of Busan this week, following joint US-South Korean air drills, tensions on the peninsula have escalated.
He threatened that North Korea would show "more offensive actions against the threat of enemies, based on the principle of ensuring security and protecting peace through powerful force".
