At least six people were killed and 19 others were injured when a landslide engulfed a passenger bus on a mountain road in central Vietnam's Han Hoa province, local news agency VnExpress reported.
According to the media, the tragedy occurred late on the evening of November 16 at the Han Le Pass, located on National Highway 27C. Heavy rains triggered a landslide at the pass, which collapsed on the bus carrying 32 people.
Soil and rocks blocked a significant section of the mountain road and it took rescuers more than two hours to reach the scene of the accident.
Rescue operations at the scene continued on Monday morning. Heavy rains and the risk of new landslides are hampering efforts.
According to the Hanh Hoa Hydrometeorological Station, heavy rainfall in the province is expected to continue until November 18.
