A Russian missile strike in the eastern Ukrainian city of Balakliya, Kharkiv region, killed three people and wounded ten, including three teenagers, Reuters reported, citing a statement today from the Kharkiv regional military administration, BTA writes.
The attack carried out tonight damaged multi-storey apartment blocks and a number of cars in the city center, said the head of the administration of the region bordering Russia, Oleg Sinegubov.
A photo provided by regional authorities shows the damaged facade of a multi-storey brick building, with windows broken. Flames are shooting from an upper floor, and debris and broken branches are visible around.
The head of the Balakliya city military administration, Vitaly Karabanov, noted that teenagers were among the injured, and reported that nine of the wounded were admitted to hospital.
Moscow has not commented on the attack at this stage, Reuters specifies, noting that Karabanov's information cannot be independently verified.
Russia regularly shells Ukraine's second largest city, Kharkiv, with missiles, drones and artillery, destroying homes and infrastructure, cutting off power supplies and subjecting local residents to constant alarms.
Power was out overnight in parts of the Kharkiv region, including the southern city of Izyum, after Russian attacks last night that wounded a 14-year-old boy, city authorities announced in "Telegram".
