Unprecedented Ukrainian attack! Night drone strikes left 500,000 people in the dark and cold - 1

The Moscow-appointed head of the Russian-controlled part of Ukraine's Donetsk region - Denis Pushilin, announced today that an "unprecedented attack" by Ukrainian forces last night caused damage to two thermal power plants, Reuters reported. In addition, some settlements were left without electricity, the world agency added, quoted by BTA.

Pushilin wrote on the "Telegram" application that the boiler rooms and treatment plants at the thermal power plants in Zugres and Starobeshevo have been closed and emergency services are working on site to restore their operation.

The head noted that a Ukrainian drone attack on energy infrastructure has left about 500,000 people in several settlements without electricity. Reuters makes the reservation that Pushilin's information cannot be independently verified, and that there is no comment from the Ukrainian side at this stage.

At least two people were injured in a massive Russian drone attack on the Ukrainian city of Dnieper tonight, Ukrinform reported, referring to information published on the "Telegram" application by the head of the military administration of the Dnipropetrovsk region Vladislav Gayvanenko.

The injured are a 59-year-old woman and a 67-year-old man. Both have been admitted to hospital, and their condition is assessed as moderately serious.

Several fires broke out in the city. A two-story media building, a transport company, a private enterprise, an administrative building, a service station, shops, a restaurant, infrastructure facilities, six residential buildings, garages and over 20 cars were affected.

The building of the Ukrainian national public television "Suspilne" was damaged. Reuters reports that the premises of radio "Dnipro" were also affected.

The television published a photo of the hole drilled in the concrete floor of the building. There were no journalists in the building at the time of the attack.

Russian strikes also hit the Dnieper railway station, causing delays to trains to Poland, Ukrinform notes. The agency said that Ukraine's air defenses shot down 33 Russian drones that night.
