During the talks with Ukraine in Geneva, US administration officials accused members of the Ukrainian delegation of organizing a negative leak to the American media of details about the plan proposed by Washington to resolve the Ukrainian conflict, Axios reported.

„During the meeting, the American side accused the Ukrainians of leaking negative details about the plan to the American press. The Ukrainians agreed to make a statement on behalf of one of their negotiators to diffuse the situation“, writes the agency's journalist in X. He also noted that during the negotiations Ukraine requested changes to the plan proposed by the American side, and the United States expressed its readiness to do so.

Earlier, Secretary of State Marco Rubio told reporters in Geneva that the parties had made progress in consultations and were working on adjustments to the plan to resolve the crisis in Ukraine.

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said that, according to his information, the negotiations on Ukraine were proceeding difficultly and expressed hope that they would at least be able to agree on a position on a ceasefire.

“I hear that these are extremely difficult negotiations, because now, given the serious time pressure, the focus is on at least achieving a ceasefire as quickly as possible“, the prime minister said in an interview with the television channels ProSieben and Sat1. Merz believes that the ceasefire agreement will allow the start of a substantive dialogue with Russia.

DPA sources in the EU also described the negotiations as “very difficult”. According to them, the US exerted significant pressure on Kiev representatives during the meeting with the Ukrainian side.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio told reporters that the US and Ukrainian delegations had made progress on a plan to resolve the conflict during the talks in Geneva and were discussing proposals for its revision.

Europe's counter-proposal for Ukraine does not imply the transfer of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant to Kiev; It is proposed to restart it under the supervision of the IAEA, according to an EU-3 document.

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will hold a telephone conversation on November 24, the Russian leader's press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.

“Yes. We can confirm. Such a conversation is planned“, Peskov said when asked to confirm the date announced by the Turkish president.
