Romanian Prime Minister Ilie Bologian is arriving on an official visit to Austria, the government press service announced in information also distributed to BTA. The program of the visit includes meetings with Austrian Chancellor Christian Stocker, as well as with the ministers responsible for European affairs, integration and family, economy, energy, tourism and finance, BTA reports.
The visit, which will continue tomorrow, includes one-on-one talks, plenary meetings and a working lunch hosted by Chancellor Stocker. Representatives of Romanian and Austrian companies will also participate in it, with the aim of promoting economic partnership.
Bolojan will also attend an official reception on the occasion of the National Day of Romania, organized by the Romanian Embassy in Vienna.
The press release states that the main goal of the visit is to deepen bilateral relations in both political-diplomatic and economic aspects, as well as closer coordination at the regional and European levels against the backdrop of current challenges. Emphasis will also be placed on expanding economic cooperation and increasing investments in both markets.
On the way to Vienna, the Romanian Prime Minister will also stop in Budapest, where he will hold a meeting with his Hungarian counterpart Viktor Orbán. The main topic of the talks will be cooperation between Romania, Hungary and Austria in the development of electricity interconnections.
