Former EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs Federica Mogherini has issued a statement regarding her detention yesterday for questioning and the charges brought against her by the European Public Prosecutor's Office, world agencies reported, quoted by BTA.
In the statement, she confirms her innocence and says that she has full confidence in the judicial system and believes that the correctness of the actions of the College of Europe will be confirmed in court.
Mogherini, along with two other high-ranking Italian officials, is accused of fraud, corruption and conflict of interest, as well as breach of professional secrecy in connection with the assignment of a training program for young diplomats to the College of Europe, of which Mogherini is rector.
