Two people were killed in the Saratov region in an attack by Ukrainian drones, regional governor Roman Busargin said on his Telegram channel.
“The drone attack damaged several apartments in an apartment building. Two people died“, he wrote.
The governor expressed condolences to the families and friends of the victims, noting that all necessary support would be provided to them. The attack damaged the facades of several buildings. “Several double-glazed windows were broken in a kindergarten and a clinic. There were no children or patients in the establishments at the time,” the regional governor added.
According to Busargin, emergency services are currently working at the scene of the incident to deal with the consequences. A temporary shelter has been set up for the victims. Residents whose property was damaged will receive financial assistance from the regional budget. Administration officials will conduct door-to-door visits, the governor added. “The first priority is to replace the damaged double-glazed windows as quickly as possible. All major work is planned to be completed within one day. In addition, an organization has been hired to conduct an additional structural inspection of the building,” Busargin noted.
Saratov Mayor Mikhail Isaev added on his Telegram channel that specialists will assess the damage from the attack for further restoration. He also said that a headquarters has been set up in the Zavodsky District administration building to accept applications for financial assistance and answer questions from residents. A 24-hour hotline has also been set up.
