Belgian prince's name appears in documents in Jeffrey Epstein case - 1

The name of Belgian Prince Laurent appears in the latest part of the declassified documents in the case against the late financier Jeffrey Epstein, who is being investigated for sexual assault of underage girls, Belgian media reported. According to the cited excerpts from the documents, there is no trace of the prince's direct contact with Epstein, nor a broader context, BTA reported.

The data includes two emails - from Epstein to his employee and a reply from the employee from October 2012. Epstein wrote only – contact (contact) Belgian Prince Laurent" and then deleted data on an address or phone number (in the original and with preserved spelling "cntact prince laurent of belgium"). In response, the employee asks whether to call the prince or add his details to a directory.

There is no indication that there was any contact between Epstein and the prince, and Laurent's name appears for the first time in the case materials, the media specify. It is added that Epstein's telephone directory attached to the case does indeed contain contact details for the Belgian prince. Asked by the media for comment, Prince Laurent has so far refrained from answering.

Prince Laurent is the brother of King Philippe and is 15th in line to the throne. Over the years, the media has often portrayed his image in a caricature due to his alleged clumsiness and strange judgments. At the end of last year, he confirmed for the first time that he has an illegitimate son, and the two showed how they maintain a warm relationship.
