Iran strongly denies: We did not launch missiles at Turkey - 1

The Iranian Armed Forces denied having launched missiles at Turkish territory, Al Jazeera reported. They indicated that they respect Turkey's sovereignty.

We recall that yesterday the Turkish Ministry of Defense stated that NATO air defenses, located in the Eastern Mediterranean, had intercepted a ballistic missile that had been detected heading towards Turkish airspace after it was launched from Iran and passed through Iraqi and Syrian airspace.

It was not clear exactly what the missile in question was aimed at.

NATO condemned the attack. Spokeswoman Allison Hart said the organization "stands firmly with all allies, including Turkey."

United States Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said it "makes no sense" that the destruction of the ballistic missile would trigger NATO's Article 5 clause, which states that an attack on one NATO member is an attack on all.
