North Korea will strengthen its friendship and ties with China, according to a telegram sent by the country's leader Kim Jong-un to Chinese President Xi Jinping, the KCNA reported, TASS reported, BTA reported.
Kim Jong-un thanked his Chinese counterpart for the congratulations on his re-election as General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) at the 9th Party Congress.
"Let's continue to strengthen and develop traditional Korean-Chinese friendship in line with the requirements of the new era and the aspirations of the peoples of the two countries – this is the unwavering position of our Party and the government of the republic. I believe that on the path to advancing the common socialist cause, the interaction between the two parties, the two countries – DPRK and PRC – will be closer", the telegram said.
The 9th Congress of the CPC was held in Pyongyang from February 19 to 25. Five thousand delegates and two thousand observers participated in it.
