Four American citizens detained in Tehran's Evin prison are safe. The situation could only change if Israel or the US decide to strike the prison, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said.
“If the US and Israel do not attack our prisons, I believe they are safe“, he said in an interview with CBS television in response to a question on the subject.
In June 2025, the prison was hit by an Israeli airstrike, damaging some of its premises.
