Iranian authorities have threatened to strike any hotel in the Middle East that hosts US soldiers, Fars news agency reported.
Sources from the Iranian military command emphasize that the warning is primarily aimed at Bahrain and the UAE. Hotel owners in these countries have received a message from Tehran in which the Islamic Republic urges them to refrain from hosting US soldiers.
However, the agency notes that this does not apply only to the Gulf countries. According to its sources, American military personnel have been staying in hotels in Beirut and Damascus, and were recently stationed at a military base near Djibouti airport.
Iran, Fars notes, will consider all hotels and other facilities in these cities as legitimate military targets unless the American military personnel are expelled from them in a timely manner.
