The US Armed Forces have launched more than 850 “Tomahawk“ cruise missiles (Tomahawk) during the four-week-long war with Iran, using up the expensive weapons at a pace that has some Pentagon officials worried, as well as discussions about how to secure more missiles, the Washington Post reported, citing sources, BTA reports.
“The U.S. military has more than enough ammunition and weapons stockpiles to not only meet, but even exceed, the objectives of Operation Epic Fury set by President Donald Trump,“ said White House press secretary Caroline Levitt, asked by Reuters for comment on the Washington Post“ publication.
“Nevertheless, President Trump has always been extremely focused on strengthening our Armed Forces, and he will continue to call on the defense industry to produce American weapons – and they are the best in the world – to be accelerated“, Levitt added.
The US Department of Defense has not yet commented.
