Israel and the United States launched a strike on Iran's Bushehr nuclear power plant for the third time since February 28.
According to preliminary data, the plant itself was not damaged, the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) reported.
“A missile fell on the territory of the nuclear power plant, but there are no reports of casualties, material damage or technical malfunctions as a result of the missile strike“, the agency said in a press release published on its X page. AEOI emphasizes that “attacks on peaceful nuclear infrastructure facilities violate all norms of international law and threaten the security of the entire region“.
The first strike in the immediate vicinity of a power unit of the Iranian Bushehr nuclear power plant took place on the evening of the 17th March, and the plant was attacked a second time on March 24.
Iran notified the IAEA of the incident, and its head, Rafael Grossi, called for maximum restraint during the conflict to prevent the risk of a nuclear accident.
