Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said today that Russia was responding with intensified strikes to Kiev's previously proposed Easter truce, quoted by Reuters, BTA reports.
“In essence, the Russians have only intensified their strikes, turning what should have been a silence in the sky into an Easter escalation“, he said in a statement to “Ex“ after a conversation with Pope Leo XIII.
On Tuesday, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said he had not seen detailed proposals and preferred a comprehensive peace agreement instead.
Overnight, Russia launched 542 drones and 37 missiles targeting critical infrastructure in Ukraine, with Ukrainian air defense units shooting down 515 drones and 26 missiles, the Ukrainian Air Force said in a statement on Telegram today.
