A Russian nighttime drone strike hit port infrastructure in the Ukrainian Danube city of Izmail, the Ukrainian Ministry of Regional Development reported, quoted by "Reuters".

According to authorities, fires broke out in warehouses, which were subsequently brought under control by emergency services. There were no reports of casualties. "The enemy continues to attack logistics and port infrastructure," the ministry said.

Izmail, located on the Danube River opposite the Romanian coast, has established itself as a key logistics hub for Ukraine since the blockade of Black Sea ports in 2022, and remains an important supply channel today, including for fuel and explosives.

At the same time, an air alert was declared in Romania due to the attack near the border. The Ministry of National Defense reported that a warning through the Ro-Alert system was sent at 03:44 in the eastern Tulcea county.

According to radar data, 17 air targets were detected in the border area without entering Romanian airspace. In response, two F-16 fighter jets took off from Borcea airbase, and air defense systems were put on alert.

The alert was lifted at 05:10, with Romanian authorities saying they were continuing enhanced surveillance and coordination to protect the population and national territory.
