The Iranian and American delegations have concluded face-to-face expert-level talks during the negotiations in Islamabad, the Farhikhtegan newspaper reported.
According to the publication, the parties are now exchanging written minutes on the issues discussed.
The American delegation includes US Vice President J.D. Vance, Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff and the president's son-in-law, entrepreneur Jared Kushner. The American negotiating team also includes Deputy Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs Andrew Baker, who is also Vance's National Security Advisor, and Michael Vance, Advisor to the Vice President for Asian Affairs.
The Iranian delegation is led by Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and also includes Abbas Araghchi, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ali Akbar Ahmadian, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, Ali Bagheri Kani, Deputy to the National Security Council, Abdolnaser Hemati, Governor of the Central Bank of Iran, and others.
The expert-level talks between the Iranian and American delegations lasted about three hours, the Tasnim news agency reported.
The Iranian side has not ruled out the possibility of extending the negotiations with the United States in Islamabad for another day.
