Israel prepares to resume military action against Tehran after US-Iran talks fail - 1

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) are preparing to resume military action against Tehran after the “failure of negotiations“ between the US and Iran, writes The Times of Israel.

The media outlet specifies that this is clear from a “probable coordinated leak” of information from Israeli security officials to three major television networks.

Channel 12 reported, without citing sources, that the IDF is not only “preparing for a renewed conflict with Iran, but also for a possible surprise attack by Iran“. Meanwhile, Kan Broadcasting Company, citing a senior Defense Ministry official, reported that “Israel is interested in resuming the war against Iran“ after it “ended too early and without sufficient pressure on Iran on the nuclear issue and ballistic missiles“.

The newspaper notes that following the relevant decision by US President Donald Trump, the military “will try to put pressure on Iran to abandon its nuclear program by striking energy infrastructure“.

A Channel 13 report states that the Chief of Staff of the Israel Defense Forces, Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir, has instructed the military to prepare for “immediate resumption of military action“.

On April 11, Iran and the US held several rounds of talks in Islamabad, but failed to reached an agreement on a long-term settlement of the conflict due to a number of differences. Details of a possible new round of negotiations remain unknown.
