Until recently, Russia mainly used cruise missiles for long-range strikes, but the lack of ammunition for Ukrainian air defenses and large gaps in the country's defenses allowed Moscow's pilots to fly closer to the VSU positions, the author explains.
"Now some Russian fighter jets fly much closer to the front line and attack with short-range missiles,”, writes Ex.
As an example, he mentions a video from the outskirts of Chasov Yar, in which Russian Su-25 attack aircraft strike the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces from a low altitude.

The lack of artillery shells and missiles for air defense has become a major problem for the Ukrainian garrison in Chasov Yar, the author adds. Against this backdrop, Russia has also stepped up attacks on targets in Ukraine's major cities, forcing Kiev to focus its air defenses near them, exposing the front, the article said.
"These gaps will increase as air defense ammunition runs out,” the journalist warns.
