Russian troops are using "amoeba tactics" in Ukraine - 1

Russia is using the so-called "amoeba tactics" in Ukraine, in which, because it lacks the forces for a complete breakthrough , it uses smaller forces that check the strength of the enemy's defenses along the entire front line, said the commander of the Estonian Defense Forces, Major General Enno Möts, quoted by Ukrinform, BTA reported.

He noted in an interview with Estonian media that Russian troops have recently stepped up their attacks on Kharkiv and Moscow's propaganda channels are calling for the city to be wiped off the map. Moets said it's a miracle the town is still intact because it's not far from the front lines. According to the general, Russia is trying to expand the front line and force Ukraine to disperse its defense forces.

"The Russians are using what we can describe as amoeba tactics. Consciously or not, they lack the strength to make a complete breakthrough, so they check the strength of the line everywhere, without caring about the lives of their soldiers and their machines, hoping that they will be given the opportunity. This is their modus operandi not only on the battlefield, but it can also be said on a global scale," Moets believes.

He added that the Russian regime is also watching Estonia and the other Baltic countries and waiting for an opportune moment to provoke something. "This also happened in Africa, where Russia elbowed its way in, spread its tentacles, until the European forces and coalitions eventually withdrew, were pushed out, and the Russians are still there," the general added.

Moets said that while Russia could bomb Kharkiv, it did not have the strength to take the city. "They can force their way through the city once, but holding it requires many more troops. And this is precisely what the Russians lack now. While we see Russia building up more troops for itself - it is a fact that it has more troops in Ukraine today than it did two years ago - the quality of their training and command is low somewhere around the platoon and company level. In recent weeks, they have been trying to combine armored attacks at the company level, but we have seen only a few such attempts," the Estonian general said.
