Russian-Turkish contacts continue at all levels, but the visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Turkey is postponed due to discrepancy with the schedule of his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan. This was stated today by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, quoted by Turkish and Russian media, BTA reported.
The opinion that the postponement of the visit is related to problems in relations between the two countries is incorrect, Peskov said at a briefing at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. “This is a false impression,”, he said.
Putin was expected to visit Turkey in February, but the visit was postponed. The West is putting pressure on Turkey, and although there are problems in economic cooperation between Moscow and Ankara, both countries are looking for ways out of the situation. Russia and Turkey will certainly find them, Peskov also stated today.
