Viktor Orban: Peace in Ukraine depends on EU and US elections

"Can be counted on resolution of the conflict in Ukraine if the peace-loving forces win the European Parliament elections and the US presidential elections". This was stated by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán in a conversation with reporters at a polling station after voting in the European Parliament elections, reports Hir TV.

Answering a journalist's question when peace can be expected in Ukraine, Orbán said: "This can be achieved in two steps". He explained that the main theme of the current elections for the European Parliament in all EU countries is the theme of war and peace. In November, the Prime Minister recalled, presidential elections will be held in the USA. "This is the second step". Orban has emphasized that if in the elections in Europe and the USA "victory goes to the peace-loving people", then peace can be established in Ukraine.

"Our first task now is to win the elections for the European Parliament," Orbán noted. He has said that he is closely following the election campaigns in France, Germany, Italy and other EU countries and everywhere he sees that the theme of war and peace has come to the fore. "This is already a pan-European issue," Orban emphasized. "Therefore, the election campaign in European countries can be interpreted as a campaign on the issue of war and peace," added the Prime Minister.
