Ukraine is at risk of "operational disaster" in a key section of the front - 1

Ukrainian troops on the eastern front in Ukraine are facing a dangerous defeat, warns former an officer of the Ukrainian army, reported focus.de. The loss of Pokrovsk will be an “operational disaster” for the country.

Russian soldiers are moving closer and closer to the city of Pokrovsk, threatening to take over the important supply center for the ZSU troops on the front line. Several railway lines and major roads pass through the city in Donetsk Oblast.

It is therefore as important to the defense of the region as Avdeevka was before it was captured by the Russians. The Ukrainian defenders had to withdraw several times from trenches and fortified positions in the surrounding area, because they simply did not have enough soldiers and equipment to withstand the Russian attacks.

The Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Army Gen. Oleksandr Sirsky today that Kiev's forces continue to advance in Russia's Kursk region, but warned that Moscow is strengthening its forces on the eastern front around the city of Pokrovsk, where Russian troops are advancing.

Russia currently has nearly 30,000 troops stationed in the Kursk region to protect it from the Ukrainian offensive, and more units are on their way to the area, Sirsky said. In view of the fact that Moscow has to transfer troops to the Kursk region, the Ukrainian plan is working, the commander-in-chief of the ZSU emphasized. However, all data indicate that the Russian attacks are not weakening, especially in the Donetsk region, where the Ukrainian army is under heavy pressure.
