The Russian authorities in the southwestern Voronezh region declared a state of emergency today after a Ukrainian drone attack and explosions in the Ostrogozhsky region, DPA reported, referring to a post in "Telegram" of the governor of the region Alexander Gusev, writes BTA.

According to him, several settlements in Ostrogozh region were evacuated after detonations caused in an unnamed object with explosive materials.

Gusev did not identify the object, but Ukrainian observers believe it was an ammunition depot.

According to the governor of the Voronezh region, there were no casualties and it is not yet clear what the extent of the damage was. Most of the evacuated locals have found shelter with friends and relatives, Gusev reported.

Since the full-scale Russian invasion in February 2022, Voronezh Oblast, which borders Ukraine's Luhansk Oblast, has been repeatedly attacked by Ukrainian drones targeting fuel and ammunition depots.

At the same time, Ukrainian air defenses reported that they had shot down 58 of 67 Russian drones that night, some of which had entered Belarusian airspace. Authorities recently reported violations of Belarusian airspace and said objects were shot down.

The Ukrainian parliament in Kyiv distributed photos showing parts of downed drones near its building. According to the message, no damage was done.
