Pope Francis warns of potential dangers of artificial intelligence - 1

Pope Francis expressed concern about the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on society, reports DPA, quoted by BTA.

During his visit to Singapore, the Pope highlighted the risk that AI could lead people to ignore the importance of human relationships. He stressed that advances in technology could lead to social isolation and create an illusory reality, while insisting that AI should be used to strengthen human connections and promote understanding and solidarity in society.

During the G7 meeting held in June in Italy, Pope Francis also urged the group's leading democratic nations to make sure AI does not get out of hand.

Singapore is currently the last stop of the 87-year-old Pope Francis' 12-day long trip, which also includes visits to Indonesia, Papua New Guinea and East Timor.
