US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken commented on Vladimir Putin's announced changes in Russia's nuclear doctrine, the BBC quoted him as saying.
"This is completely irresponsible," Blinken said in an interview with MSNBC on Thursday. "I think many in the world were aware of that when he rattled off nuclear weapons earlier, including China."
The US Secretary of State believes it is necessary to declare such nuclear rhetoric unacceptable, especially at a time when the General Assembly is being held in New York, where the need for further disarmament and nuclear non-proliferation is being discussed.< /p>
The day before, Putin said changes would be made to the nuclear doctrine to broaden the grounds for a retaliatory nuclear strike.
